Entertainment Weekly has announced that Magic Castle Board member and CBS sitcom star Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to host the 2009 Emmy Awards. According to the article, "Multiple sources are now confirming that the legen...dary  How I Met Your Mother cad has formally signed on to emcee the 61st annual ceremony, which airs Sept. 20 on CBS. Harris, meanwhile, is coming off of a rapturously received Tony hosting stint." In honor of this news, here's our interview with NPH for your listening pleasure.

Entertainment Weekly calls it the most dramatic moment of the current season of America's Got Talent. The act in question is.. yes.. another magician! A debate ensued after the performance of Constantine between Piers Morgan & David Hassellhoff as to what the show was all about. Hassellhoff called the act unoriginal. Piers didn't debate that point but stated that this family and their story was what the show was all about. Watch the act,hear their story, listen to the debate,  and decide for yourself.

According to China Daily, "A 13-year-old boy trying to imitate Taiwanese magician Liu Qian during a television program, nearly died after he swallowed a coin.

The boy was watching the program at home in Shantou, a coastal city in eastern part of Guangdong province, on Thursday.

He was rushed to the hospital where doctors had to operate to remove the coin.

His father said the child is a big fan of Liu."

Rumors have been flying for some time with regard to the status of Lance Burton's contract with the Monte Carlo which expired last week. At a press conference this afternoon, it was announced that Lance would renew his contract at the casino for an additional six years. "It seemed like forever at the time, but then you get there and you go, 'Well gee, where'd the 13 years go?' '" Burton told the media. When asked if he would extend or renew his contract beyond the 2015 date, Lance said, "That's hard to say—I can't look that far ahead of time." Lance is still recovering from an accident that resulted in a broken foot last month, but fully expects to return to the stage on July 7th. At the press conference, Mayor Oscar Goodman proclaimed July 7  "Lance Burton Day."
