SPENSER FOR HIRE ON TV
(ABC)
Robert B. Parker's acclaimed mystery series surrounding the character Spenser was adapted for television in 1985.
In the series, Spenser, a private investigator living in Boston, gets involved in a new murder mystery each episode. Using his years of experience, his natural talents for observation and reasoning, and the occasional bit of help from his friend Hawk, Spenser never fails to crack the case.
Spenser could also rely on Lt. Marty Quirk of the police department to help him out occasionally. While Sgt. Frank Belson doesn't appreciate his interference.
During the second season, Susan was no longer there. Rita Fiori, an assistant D.A. would be Spenser's new squeeze. During the third season, Rita left and Susan returned. And Marty Quirk retired.
